Blind-judging chefs gave its cookies a Great Taste Award — without knowing they were the healthy option.

There's a category of food everyone has learned to brace for: the healthy snack. You expect it to taste like the box it shipped in, and it usually obliges.
Which is what makes The Beginnings odd. It's a small snack maker in Riga, Latvia, whose products keep ending up in repeat orders for a reason the category isn't used to: people like eating them.
Because the berries are serious here. Blackcurrants, cranberries, sea buckthorn — sharp northern fruit that carries flavour the way candy can't.
The Cranberry Oat Granola uses freeze-dried, sugar-free Latvian cranberries; the cookie range runs through blackcurrant, seaberry and blueberry. When the fruit is this loud, you don't need a syrup tank to make a snack taste like something.
Not a lifestyle word — a temperature. The chips and raw bars are dried slowly at low temperature instead of fried or baked hard, which is why the ingredient lists stay embarrassingly short.
Sweet Potato Chips: 95% sweet potato, olive oil, sea salt, garlic, paprika. Kale chips: 49% kale, cashews, dates, lemon. The bars start with dates and fruit — the bestselling Raw Mango & Chia Bar is a quarter dried mango by weight.
And the preservative, across the raw range, is rosemary and rowan berry extract. Two plants.
In the maker's own words, from their product pages: the Coconut Ginger Cookies are "the exotic blend of ginger… elevated by the succulent sweetness of dates and topped with aromatic vanilla."
Not the voice of a supplement company. The voice of people who taste their own food.
The Great Taste Awards — the UK's blind-judged food awards, where chefs and food writers score products without seeing brands. Two cookies from this kitchen won: the Coconut Ginger and the Almond Pecan & Seed.
The judges weren't grading "good for a healthy snack". They didn't know it was one.

With the box they built for exactly this question. The "No-Junk" Starter Box is the whole philosophy in one order — soft-baked cookies, raw fruit bars, seed crackers, slow-dried veggie chips and granola. Sweet, savoury, crunchy and chewy, all of it passing the flip-the-pack-over test.
The tour of the range — cheaper than buying the pieces separately.
